Closet space can be tricky. We all have more than we should, but don’t always clean out for fear of parting with the right item. My personal obsession is shoes and purses which happen to be two items that don’t fluctuate in size. Because my house was built in 1928, the closet is the size of a modern day home’s linen closet. I had to find a functional way to organize what I have while also preventing things from falling on me.
I purchased two bins from the Container Store and separated my purses into two categories: clutches/small bags and larger bags/totes. I put the bins on the top shelf of my closet. The handles are easy to grab and the sturdiness of the bins allows me to add more items. Every girl’s dream!
My shoe space is also limited. Either that or I have too many! Regardless, I had to come up with a system. I used a two level shoe rack to store the shoes I wear more frequently. I divided the remaining shoes by style and placed them in shoe bags to go under the bed. The bags are easy to slide in and out while also protecting my shoes and keeping them in good condition. Double win!
