4th of July is just around the corner. Is everyone as excited as I am? This is my ultimate favorite holiday. Cookouts, warm weather, fruity drinks, sparklers, friends and family.
So how do I prep for these festivities? Well, I am no chef, so there won’t be a fancy meal. I find things more personal with DIY projects or Pinterest ideas. This year I have decided on healthy snacks, festive sangria, and a low cost table decor.
Here are a few of my favorites. What are yours?
Red, White and Blue Sangria
Festive fruit: strawberries and blueberries
1 bottle of Moscato white wine
½ cup triple sec
July 4th Fruit Kabobs
What you will need:
A set of skewers
Mini seedless watermelon
Star cookie cutter
What to do:
1. Wash fruit and sticks.
2. Slide blueberries onto the stick with the pointed end of the skewer facing up.
3. Cut watermelon into 1″ thick slices. Using the cutter, create a star shape out of the watermelon. Place the star at the top of the skewer, making sure the pointed stick is not exposed beyond the watermelon.
Flags and Candles
1. Place a candle in the center of a cylinder vase.
2. Fill the empty space around the candle with red and white jellybeans.
